Hajde me Tepru – Grand Art Studios Residency
December 2025 – March 2026 | Grand Hotel Prishtina
Sekhmet Institute partnered with Hajde Foundation to co-organise and curate the second edition of Grand Art Studios Residency – Hajde me Tepru, an artistic residency programme hosted at the iconic Grand Hotel in Prishtina.Following an invitation from Hajde Foundation, Sekhmet Institute joined the programme as a cultural partner, contributing to its curatorial development and implementation. The collaboration brought together the two organisations' shared interest in supporting contemporary artistic practices, creating opportunities for emerging artists, and exploring new ways of using existing spaces for artistic production and exchange.
Running from December 2025 until the beginning of March 2026, the residency welcomed three artists: Zgjim Zyba, Ana Morina, and Adnit Hoxha. Throughout the programme, the artists worked in temporary studios inside the Grand Hotel, developing new works and exploring different approaches to collective memory, identity, belonging, and shared experiences.
The residency offered artists time and space to experiment, conduct research, and develop their practices within the particular architectural and social context of the Grand Hotel, a building that holds an important place in Prishtina's collective memory.
Hajde me Tepru – The Exhibition
The residency concluded with a group exhibition, Hajde me Tepru, which opened on March 6 and remained on view until March 22, 2026, at the Grand Hotel Prishtina.Curated by Anyla Kabashi, the exhibition brought together new works developed during the residency, exploring collectivity through bodies that gather and disperse, shared reactions, and materials that carry memories. Each artist approached the idea of belonging and collective experience from a different perspective. From queer spaces within the Grand Hotel to collaborations with bacteria and the use of humanitarian aid blankets as objects of collective memory, the exhibition explored how relationships, histories, and identities are shaped through our connections with others.
Meet the Resident Artists
Zgjim Zyba - is a multimedia artist based in Venice, Italy. His artistic practice combines installation, performance, and multimedia works to explore collective memory, gender identity, displacement, and trauma. Through the transformation of materials and structures, his work reflects on resilience, fragility, and the ways histories leave traces on bodies and spaces. His work has been presented at the National Gallery of Kosovo, Project8 Gallery in Melbourne, and various international exhibitions and artistic programmes.
Ana Morina - is a filmmaker and researcher from Kosovo whose work focuses on collective memory, mythology, oral history, and the relationship between digital culture and inherited traditions. Having studied film in the United Kingdom, she works across documentary filmmaking, research, and storytelling. Her projects include the ethnographic film Pashtriku and the animated short film Who is Singing?, inspired by interviews with women political prisoners
Adnit Hoxha - is a visual artist and medical student whose practice primarily focuses on oil painting and drawing.
